It's a long way to the top...

...if you wanna rock and roll...

AC/DC sometime in the 1980's...

I love music. Not many people know that I went to university to persue Music and performed regularily in an orchestra and sometimes in a jazz band. My main instrument was percussion but due to carpal tunnel and a few other issues (scholar burnout being one of them) it never went beyond University level. But I enjoyed it, and every once in a while I'll snap out the question 'Who sings this?' when a particularly good rock and roll song comes on over the XM Sattelite radio in the studio. I'm sure my Divas would love it if I gave up this little game but it was one my brother and I played often during long car trips.

While ACDC never musically developed much passed the time they were 17 years of age (and that was pretty much a quote from one of them in the band) they understood that in order to be the best or top in your field it can be a long road and sometimes sacrifices have to be made. Every time I pull a long day or week I start hearing a little whiney snively voice at the back of my mind, feeling very sorry for itself. Then I think about this very simple truth and ask myself if I want to be the best Scrapbooking Store and Studio there is in the whole of the Canotek Industrial Park. The snively voice usually retorts that I am the only LSS in the C.I.P.!

"That's no reason not to do my best, every moment and every day, because maybe one day there WILL be another LSS. Ever think about that?"

Well you get the picture. =) I'm not going crazy (You know I will be when I open a second location =) and I'm not going anywhere because I have fabulous staff and even better customers! Not sure where this post came from, other than perhaps when I was trying to put together a playlist for this blog I came accross some old ACDC and it got me thinking...now I have to figure out how to embed it into the bottom of the blog like Steph has hers. I'll have to ask her the next time we have a spare minute or two...

Thanks for visiting! If you found this post a bit on the surreal side you could always click on one of the great blogs on the left side of this blog to catapult you back into the scrapbooking world. Check out the store this week for some more very cool stuff coming in like maybe Spellbinders? Stay tuned!

hugs!

I can totally relate to your love of music. Although I never went as far as a formal education in it, I love it just the same. And don't stop your little "who sings this?" game, if I'm ever in the store when you get that urge, I'll do my best to indulge your fun (psst, I like that game too).

cheers
