I wanted to combine a number of different elements: gate fold card, a rather large butterfly stamp, clear embossing and a thank you theme. Hmmmmmm.....right. So I played around with the Butterfly stamp - one of my favorites from Tim, and this is what came out of it...
The out side is held closed by a thin white ribbon going through two eyelets - eyelets that are keeping the butterfly fixed to the card as well - so if you wanted to have the butterfly wings curl out a bit you can.
This is the inside of the card - as you can see, the butterfly wings come around inside as well, which make a nice bracket for the simple 'Thank you' sentiment.
I really like simple, classic colour combinations and using 2-3 colours maximum gives merit to the 'less is more' theory. There are a few techniques with the butterfly I will be sharing with my classes, not the least of which is playing with Mica Flakes!
If you are interested, please check out the Calendar on The Scrapbox Website at www.thescrapbox.ca/classes for the dates and times for this, and other awesome classes being held this month at The Scrapbox. Take time for YOU this month!
I would also like to put a footnote here about my next creative project that is the 12 Tags of Christmas currently being hosted over at Tim Holtz's website. You can click on the blog link on the right side of this blog to join in the fun. You can win prizes if you comment on his blog, and I am doing a giveaway too at the end of the month for anyone who does 12 tags inspired by Tim's, and has them completed by the end of December. I am giving away a $40 retail value prize of Tim products!
If you need anything to help with this or any other holiday project, I will do my best to get it to you in a timely fashion. Please contact us at the store, at 613-745-2215.
