Check it out!

If you don't normally check out the Scrapbook & Cards Today Blog, I encourage you to do so today as yours truly has a LO published there. Should be familiar as it is the class I taught in January based on their Calandar Sketch from the same month.

First time I have had my scrapbooking published in any form and well, it feels pretty amazing! All because I have decided to 'Play' more this year.

Check out their blog HERE!

I'm also going to add their blog to my list of blogs to check out. I should have done it a long time ago as I have carried their awesome magazine in my store since pratically the very beginning of The Scrapbox.

New Product in This week? Yes Maam!

I am going to be picking up new May Arts Ribbons, Echo Park and JillyBean Soup today and tomorrow (keeping my fingers very crossed) BO BUNNY! It's going to be a very fun couple of days so stay tuned to see when they cross the threshold!

Have an awesome day and Come Play!

"Play" Update

Well, February is almost over - Yay! It is said that resolutions made in the New Year are often abandoned by this point but I think my resolution to 'Play' has held pretty firm so far.

Art Journaling - I am still figuring this out but having lots of fun doing so. I am participating in an Art Journal exchange and the challenge of doing 'just art' with 'no rules' in a Moleskine 3x5 journal is really pushing my creative boundaries.
I have completed one double page LO in S's Journal, and now I have M's and R's to play with and complete prior to K's return. (the full names of the participants have been witheld to protect the innocent=) I will take pictures of my work and post them later as I don't want to spoil the suprise for any of the ladies involved. =)

2 PG LO Series based on the SCT 2011 Calendar - February!
I did get this done last week and I really love how it came together! By now most know that Emma has a very unique smile and so of course is the focal point of this particular Layout.

I used the 'Little Girl' line from Echo Park and for all participants they will receive the whole paper pack including the 12x12 stickers plus all the other embellishments - a really great deal for only $30/$27 (always cheaper if you are a Member of the Scrapbox Studio!)

And for those ladies who would like to make this LO for their boys, you can choose to have the 'Little Boy' Paper Pack Class Kit, also by Echo Park! It's awesome how the patterns are similar with boy themes and colours - easily adaptable to this LO!

Learn design techniques, how to work from a sketch - and how to make 2 pages from a 1 page LO - and how to use the new Sew Easy Tool from WR Memory Keepers!
The Class is this Thursday night, Feb 24th at 6pm - 9pm and we still have 2 spots left if anyone is interested - please call the store at 613-745-2215.

So the next thing on my creative to do list is to pick out the products for March's SCT 2 PG LO and work on the Art Journals I have in my possession.

As for playing around the home - new kitties! Midnight and Patches are the two new furry additions to our little house but we are all getting along just swimmingly. Pets are such stres relievers. I somehow forgot how much positive energy they bring to the home.

I hope you are all enjoying your 'Family Day'. We plan on spending time with friends and their little girls so wish us luck =)

Scrapbox Website Updated!

Yup - just updated my website with all the classes and events that are happening at The Scrapbox during Feburary and March! Lots of fun and creative things to participate in so if you see something that catches your eye, best to call the store at 613-745-2215 to sign up for it before it sells out!

I haven't much talked about CHA that just passed, for a couple of reasons. One - I didn't go and from the looks of things, there was LOTS to see and so many purely excellant products being released. Secondly - I have had my hands full ordering tons of product from the CHA releases and that has also kept me very busy. I know you will be quite pleased with what is going to start rolling in over the next few weeks!

I would like to share with you a couple of classes coming up next week that you might be interested in.

The first class is the Feb Stamp of the Month that takes place various dates over the month.

This is the Artboard.

The Theme is "Condolence and Get Well". Granted, not the cheeriest topic, but sadly even I could have used one or two of these cards lately, that mean so much to people when they need cheering up. Or you could leave the scentiment areas open for any message you wish to convey, or if you wanted to use 'pense au francais'. Please pardon my french - literally. I am still learning and I think that is the correct usuage!

Here are the samples up close!

Dates Available:

Saturday, February 12, 2011 9 am 1 seat available!
Saturday, February 12, 2011 2pm 0 Sold Out!
Tuesday, February 15, 2011 1 pm 6 seats available
Wednesday, February 16, 2011 6 pm Sold Out!

The other class I would like to share with you is one designed by Stephanie and is a 2 PG LO called 'A Little Birdie Told Me'!

This layout includes a very intersting technique involoving Sticky-back Canvas that is really brilliant, if I do say so. Also you would get to use The Vagabond die cutting machine as we need to emboss chipboard (see the cute birdies!?). Perfect for any outdoor theme, little (or big) boys or pets (birds!).

Call the store to book this class on:

Thurs March 17th at 6pm - 9pm
Cost : $30/$27
