Debby Schuh Event 2011!

My how time flies! It didn't seem that long ago that we were planning the first ever Debby Schuh event and now we are planning her return visit! How awesome is that!

In early January, Debby posted her 3 classes for the first half of 2011 and they are gorgeous! I would like to present them now for you!

I am also happy to report that she will be sending up a sample kit of each one by the end of January so that we can assemble and present you with a real sample of each project at The Scrapbox!

We are now taking sign ups for this event! Please call the store at 613-745-2215 to reserve your seat and to specify which class or package you want to take! This will be another awesome event and you won't want to miss out!

Saturday March 26th at 9am - 5pm (2 Classes + optional Lunch)

You can choose to take one, two or all 3 classes! "Recipe of Me" Album
Friday March 25th at 6pm
$70/$65

This adorable album is delightfully created to hold the stories of the people, places, and events that have made you YOU. You can get a better picture of where your going by looking back at where you've been. What are the ingredients that make- you unique, that have prepared you to live your life with purpose? Everyone of us -has a unique story to tell... if you don't tell it, who will? This album could be a personal discovery journal or a tribute to those who have gone before and shaped you along the way. Or it can just be a sweet album for any occasion!

Filled with techniques and products from October Afternoon, Melissa Frances, American Crafts, Jenni Bowlin, May Arts, and 7gypsies, this album will be a keepsake to treasure or to gift to someone extra-special!

Peace Keeper
Saturday, March 26th at 9am
$75/$70

Peace in my heart and peace in this world is my prayer for this year, and one of the tools I'm going to use to help me achieve that is by tucking my cares and my prayers into this enchanting 7gypsies receipt holder. Once my prayer is written down and tucked away, I can rest in giving it to God. Filled with reminders to believe and be brave and to have hope, this display board can hang or stand on an easel and hold pictures and thoughts to encourage you along the way. A separate mini album can hang on a clip or be tucked in your bag to carry with you. That's my inspiration, but, of course, you can use this beautiful project for anything you can imagine!

Your class kit will be filled with gorgeous products from 7gypsies, Tim Holtz Idea-ology, and May Arts. Everything shown in the picture is included in your kit.

Junket Journal
Saturday March 26th at 1:30pm
$70/$65

Whether traveling near or far, this refashioned 7gypsies portfolio journal will be ready to take along for scrapbooking as you go. Just take your journal and a little bag with a few supplies, and you'll be ready to capture every memory along the way. Already home from your adventure? Your interactive album, with lots of pockets and pages and places for photos, journaling, and your memorabilia, will be ready to fill with all the stuff that makes the memories come alive again. (Not going anywhere?... this album is perfect for recording the daily journey of life!)

We'll get inky as we create with this kit packed with products from 7gypsies and Studio Calico, as well as Cosmo Cricket, American Tag, Tim Holtz Idea-ology and the office supply store.

FAQ for the Debby Schuh Event

Q1. What is the deadline for registering?

A. If we have space and kits, you could register at the very last possible minute. However our new location has a maximum of 40-ish people so I wouldn't recommend waiting too long!

Q2. When is payment of class fees due?

A. Half of your payment is due by Tues Feb 15th, 2011. If you want to do a payment plan please contact Jenn at 613-745-2215 and leave a message if need be. She will get back to you. The balance of the fees are due Tuesday March 1st. Debby needs to know how many kits to prep and ship!

If you are signing up after March 1st, we will require payment in full. We accept Debit, MasterCard, Visa and now American Express. Cash is nice too. All deposits/fees are non-refundable.

Q3. What does the 'Optional Lunch' involve?

A3. For Saturday only, we will be having Pizza and Salad delivered by Gabriel Pizza. For $10, payable when you pay your class fees, you will receive 2 slices of yummy pizza, salad and a beverage! You may also bring your own lunch if you wish!

Q4. Will there be a store available on site?

A4. Yes we will have a "Mini-Scrapbox" on site carrying lots of yummy products that you can shop for before, during and after the classes. We will be accepting Cash, Visa, MasterCard and American Express.

Q5. Can I purchase extra Kits from this event?

A5. Sure you can! If you want to purchase kits, but not able to make the event, the cost is the same as the single class. We will toss in the goodie bag for that class as well!

If you are taking the class plus you want to purchase an extra kit of the same class, then the extra kit will be priced less. For more details please call the store at 613-745-2215.

Q. 6 What if I have to cancel my classes/package?

A6. We will miss you lots and will keep your kit safely at The Scrapbox for when you can pick it up. We will have the Store Samples handy for your reference and now all of Debby's kits come with Colour Pictures and Instructions! How cool is that!

There is no refund on any monies for this event.

So there you have it! This will be a wonderful, creative and inspiring event that you will not want to miss. Call us now at 613-745-2215 to sign up!

Jenn's Word of 2011 and her First Ever LO Class

I've decided on a word for 2011 and it will be a hard one to pay attention to. Ready for it? Ok here goes...

Play!

Alright stop scoffing. Really - it's not easy for me to take time to 'play' in my life and most times it's because I don't think I deserve it. Playing at my age seems a tad frivolous and there is always a list of 'must do or the world stops turning' to deal with. You get the picture.

So I am going to Play...

...with my daughter. She asks me all the time and I don't get down to her level nearly enough. Soon she'll stop asking me and I will regret it with all my heart.

...with my husband. And not just what you might be thinking (naughty you!). We found a new board game we love to play together and in spending more time with him over the holidays, I realize that I am not the only one who made huge sacrifices since I opened the store. He's been patiently waiting for me to come home for over 3 years and I miss spending time doing the things we used to do.

...with my scrap-stuff. I take a bajillion photos and 0.01% get scrapped. My yearly LO count isn't too high (cough*heather*cough) and I really really miss it.

...so my stress levels come down. Having fun and laughing is a proven method to stave off stress, high blood pressure and depression (I'm not depressed folks, I just want to make sure I don't ever get there). I am hoping to take in a few crops too so I can spend real quality time with the ladies that know what having fun is all about!

...with new ideas and see where it takes me both with the store and personally. Sometimes just knocking around ideas 'just for fun' can produce some pretty startling results.

So with this fresh in my mind I would like to present my first ever Double Page Layout Class that will be debuting this month at The Scrapbox on Thurs Jan 27th at 6pm-9pm entitled 'Lotsa Love' and features the two most important people in my life.

(if you click on the above picture, you can see a bigger picture, and more detail!)

I based it upon the sketch in the 2011 Scrapbook & Cards Today/Page Maps Calendar "January". I want to show how to execute basic design elements and how to put your own spin on a sktech, and of course, stretch a single page sketch into a 2 page layoutt! I plan on making this into a series, doing one each month for the next few months to see how it goes. I really enjoyed putting this one together. I hope you do to!

Date : Thurs Jan 27th 6pm
Cost : $30 Non-Member
$27 Member
$26 Member with the 2011 Srapbook & Cards Today Calendar!

Call us at 613-745-2215 to book your seat - only 9 kits available total!

Come play! =)
