Tim Holtz Distress Stickles back in stock!

But for how long that is the question...hmmmm.

Also - just opened an account with Stampers Anonymous - official and ONLY manufacturer/distributer of Tim Holtz Stamps. If you want in on my first order, check out their website www.stampersanonymous.com and then email me your list to jenn@thescrapbox.ca. If you haven't seen these stamps in action, click on the link to his blog that's to the left of this one. He's currently on Day 10 of his 12 Tags of Christmas and I wished he did this all year round. Fabulous and his explanations of why things work the way they do clears up alot of the mystery to his products.

Ok so I love the guy - what can I say? All that and so pretty to look at...

/sigh

Anyways - also still have a ton of the Scrapbook and Cards Today Magazine! It's FREE to my members. If you aren't a member - don't you want 15% off all Reg Priced Product all the time? 25% off on your birthday? Discounts on your Crops and Classes? And 4 times a year you get a free magazine...like holy cow sign me up now!!!

Wait. I own the store, I don't need the membership...just got so excited...

Anyway...hope to see you this week and stay safe ok?

hugs!

It's lovely weather...

...for a sleigh ride together...with you!

I am not going to apologize - it's December and I'm allowed to listen and better yet - SING - along with Christmas songs. I get some pretty strange looks in public places but I like to sing so I'm going to sing. It's a great therapy and my daughter loves it!

Anyway - another week starts at The Scrapbox and the Studio looks like a bomb went off in it. Eeeek! Anyway, I noticed that we have a really full week, but Friday night seems to be open - so I've decided to call it 'Open Studio Time' and if you want to come on down just to relax and crop for a few hours, please feel free to do so.

(Let it snow...let it snow...let it snow...)

I've also been following the Tim Holtz 12 tags of Christmas - and if you post a comment on his blog you could win a fab prize! So check it out, I certainly would love to do some of these things ... in my spare time of course! Oh well, at the very least it's eye candy - and the tags are really pretty too! =)

Hope to see you around the Scrapbox ranch sometime this week! Members your Newsletter is going to be out late tonite or tomorrow morning early!

hugs!

It's Sunday night - do you know where your LSS owner is??

Back home safely after a very fun christmas potluck party hosted by the Rockland ATC Ladies - I had a very good time and I'm still full from all the yummy foods! Emma did fall asleep on the way home (as expected) and she proudly showed off her ATC's to her daddy that she received in trade today. Will have to see if I can remember to post my ATC for November tomorrow when I get to the store and my camera.

*As a side note, people often call the store when it's off-business hours and are suprised to hear me pick up the phone - I'm there quite often when the store is closed just to catch up on all that picky paperwork! But not Sundays - those are just for Family and Friends =)

Starting tomorrow is Tim Holtz's 12 Days of Christmas Tags - from Dec 1 to Dec 12 he will be posting step by step instructions on how to use his products with his techniques and products making beautiful Christmas Themed Tags - presumably to put on a gift to someone this season. I highly recommend you check this out because in Jan or Feb I`ll be holding more Tim Holtz classes with these techniques! Yes indeed! There is a link on the left of this blog to go straight to his blog!

Anyways, just thought I would drop a line here since it`s been nearly 10 days since my last post and that`s just dreadful. Hope you had a good weekend and a safe one.

hugs!

Update of many things...

So much has happened in the last week it makes my head spin!

We celebrated this past Saturday at The Scrapbox our First Anniversary and it was a wonderful day full of good people having a good time! Would like to thank my mother for taking the time and making the trek all the way up here from 'Caygeon to spend the weekend with us. Also to my fab staff - Divas and Angels who spent the day with us too - you are a huge part of this store and success! And last, but certainly not least my Studio Members who have supported myself and The Scrapbox for the past year. Thank you for everything and I promise to do my best so that we are around for a long long time!

Also just arrived! Canadian Scrapbooker Fall/Winter Edition in which our own Diva Stephanie Pouliot will be featuring her first published layout (check out page 72!). For sale now in store, but to add to the fun next Wed evening, Nov 26 from 6 until 9pm Stephanie will be holding a magazine signing in our own Scrapbox Studio. Come on down and have a free cup of coffee and chat with your fellow members!

Also in store now...

I've done a quick flip through and there seems to be a fair size of the magazine dedicated to Stamps and the art of stamping. An excellant volume for scrapbookers of any level of skill (quit wrinkling your nose at me Kim!).

Charity Event is revving up!

**Edit**
THIS EVENT WILL TAKE PLACE RAIN OR SHINE! All pictures and fun is happening indoors at the back in the Studio! We aren't going to let a bit of phooey weather dampen our spirits! Thanks in advance!
**End of Edit**

Things are starting to all fall into place for the First Annual Halloween Charity Event at The Scrapbox for "Scrapping with Cancer". As the days slip quickly by we are doing what we can to let the word out about what we are doing, who we are doing it with and who we are doing it for!

It's perhaps no secret now that I am a geek at heart - I love Star Wars! So when I had the opportunity to team up with the 501st Legion Capitol City Squad to raise awareness and funds for 'Scrapping with Cancer' it was easy as getting glue dots stuck to my fingernails!

So let's get to the facts shall we?

When: Sat Oct 25 starting at 12pm (high noon!)

Where: The Scrapbox, located at 5510 Canotek Rd (directions at the bottom of the post)

How : Come on down, in costume or not, big or little! Pay a wee fee and have your picture taken with creatures from the dark side!

Why : So we can raise monies to put together scrapbook kits for children diagnosed with cancer at CHEO! Yes! I have been approved to open a chapter of 'Scrapping with Cancer' that will be putting whatever we raise right back into our community, our hospitol, and more importantly our children.

What : You can bring your own camera and for $2 per person you take pictures of...well you can take their pictures with Star Wars Characters! If you want US to take your picture, we will be happy to take 6 photos of each person, and put them onto a CDrom for $6.00. All Proceeds go to 'Scrapping with Cancer'.

I will be promoting this event both on Rogers Daytime Television tomorrow morning, Monday Oct 21 showing at 11 am, 1pm and 5pm.

Also I am scheduled to appear on "A Morning" - the morning talk show on A Channel - on Wed Oct 22! My slot should be around 8:30am - if there is a change I will post it here!

*EDIT*
Ok here is the change that always happens when dealing with the media - our slot is now around 8:45am and will last about 4-5 mins in length. There will be 2 Clones in attendance as well!
*End of Edit*

And the above photo? Well - just wanted to give you a hint of what is to come!

Hope you had a fab weekend!

Also in - more bits from Tim Holtz - key holes, Acrylic ovals and shapes as well as some fabulous masks. Do I see another Tim Holtz class in the making for Jenn perhaps? Perhaps.....=)

Other new things in - the Quicker-Picker-Upper-Poker! This little handy tool picks up all the little bits that are so pretty but irksome to play with. Just beat the clock...whew!

Well I didn't miss my deadline - by my clock I have about 6 mins to post this to maintain my 4rth day in a row of posting on this blog and the reason why I am so late is because I just finished a dozen ATC's for tomorrow nights swap at The Scrapbox! Yay!

So mine are done, very happy. Has a definate seasonal theme to it, and next month's ATC night falls on Halloween - yup! So no need to guess what the theme is going to be then eh?

So in other news - got yet MORE boxes in that looked suspiciously like Basic Grey stuff, but had to go home before I could dive into it. Also have a box of Fancy Pants that I've been sitting on trying to get other product up on the wall.

I also now have Scor Mats in Stock! And Scor Pals! Whoooo! Better get em now!

Have a good rest, and see you soon!

Day #2 but I'm not counting - really!

The official week at the Scrapbox is about to begin and I am anticipating another wonderful week of creating and scrapping! I have been concentrating on cleaning up on the special orders list and going over the back orders and trying to figure out why things I ordred ages ago still haven't arrived. I think my distributers heave a great sigh when they see my phone # come up on their call display =)

Oh well - tough for them. Give me mah stuff!

I would like to encourage folks, as I usually do, to go outside their comfort zone in this craft and a great way to do this is to join us this Friday for our ATC Swap - we also have a make n take at 5pm where you can make an ATC for a mere $1 ea. Learn new things! Meet new people! No fee to join us, no sign up required, just show up with a basic kit and an open mind.

Updates and a Challenge (for me right now)

Howdy folks!

I've recovered from my bout of the first round of Strep Throat a few weeks ago, but I think it liked me so much it's trying to book a return engagement. Hopefully I'll be smart and take it a bit easier over the next few days but no promises.

It's been awhile since last I updated this blog, and I think I am going to challenge myself to do an blog entry every day for at least one week to see if I can do it. Like I need more challenge in my life but hey - this one is pretty easy all things considered.

Ok - so! I've just updated The Scrapbox website with photos of all the classes that I have photos for, and as I get more in from my Diva's, I will be adding to it. Check it out at http://www.thescrapbox.ca/classes . Sign up either online, at the store, email or calling the store at 613-745-2215.

Going home to get 8 hours of sleep! That is my 'be gentle on yourself' tip for today.

hugs!

So! If you had placed a pre-order with me for any of these items, rest assured that I will be setting your order aside for you as it arrives and will be announcing it or calling you (likely both). I have ordered some extra but I do NOT anticipate these to stick around long. I will do my best to accomodate, but if you are interested in any of the above I would recommend placing a 'special order' by emailing me at jenn@thescrapbox.ca .

These can be viewed by going to this link

http://www.provocraft.com/products/catalog.php?cl=cuttlebug&scl=Embossing

as well as all the embossing folders and die cuts for the Cuttlebug. Any of these I can get for you - just let me know what you want ok?

jenn@thescrapbox.ca or 613-745-2215 or come into the store!

Here is a 'Did you know' moment...

Did you know that Spellbinders Embossing and Diecuts are compatible with the Cuttlebug? Yes!
I am very interested in this company as their sets are or good quality, compact, space effiecient and very well priced on top of their compatibility with the Cuttlebug and many other existing die cut systems.

I will be carrying the Nestabilities at the start but starting to bring in some of the other product as well and certainly anything you see on their website ...

http://www.spellbinders.us/ct/store/ct_dynamicIndex.asp?idAffiliate=

...I will also be able to order in for you. Let me know 'k?

My DD and I had a great time with my Dad and as soon as I get some photos off my camera I'll post a few here. BC is beautiful! and cool! Like - really sunny but without the sticky! But it's not home, and home is here and that is where I want to be!

So - it's back to business for me and I have to go now and start planning Sept, Oct, Nov and of course Dec but if you want to check out what's happening at the Scrapbox in August check out www.thescrapbox.ca and go to the Classes section.

Heads Up!

That's right - 12 hours of cropping and it is where you get the works : catered meals, free hot beverages, lots of space to do your craft, use of studio tools and access to a fully stocked (and awesome) scrapbook store - where you can run a tab all day. I mean - what could be better?

What are ATC's anyways?

I would like to tell you what it is *for me*.

Other resources would be to grab your latest edition of Scrapbook and Cards today and check out the great article on page 22 or just to google 'Artist Trading Card' and see all the great articles that come up.

But - for me ATC's do the following;

- challenges me to create a series of 'variations on a theme' using new (and often scraplifted) ideas from anywhere

- magazines, the internet, customers or shamelessly from the DT team. (I will emphasize I totally give credit where credit is due).

- From a practical viewpoint it`s a great way to use up all the little "bits" that are always left over from any given paper project.

- I love collecting things and this has become one of my favorite collections ever!

- Since I got hooked into it by Anne and Debbie, I get to hook others into it and thereby makes it ok to be obsessed about them =)

And there is lots more too of course, but I won't be able to think about them until after I post this. Best just to come to our ATC Events at The Scrapbox. Visit www.thescrapbox.ca and go to the Classes section to see all that's available and when the ATC events are.

hugs!

Cuttlebug Market Research...

...done by me over the weekend and this is what I found...

There are Cuttlebugs for sale at the Trainyards Walmart – for $67 ea – 2 in stock as of Sunday. Something didn’t look quite right to me so after staring at the box for a few minutes I figured out what it was – the bonus die cut and embossing set wasn’t part of the package!

Let me quickly explain – with the Cuttlebug Set that I provide you get the machine, the plates plus a bonus of a sweet stamp shaped die cut and 4 stamp shaped embossing folders - that so far as I can determine you can only get with this particular Cuttlebug Starter Kit Offer.

So here is the bottom line

Walmart : $67 but no bonus set.

Scrapbox : $90 with bonus set. Oh and then you get to discount 15% because you are a Studio Member which takes it down to $76.45. So the cost difference? The extra die and embossing set is easily worth $10 retail.

The choice, ultimately is yours. I have no idea what Michaels is doing these days with this item – sometimes they honor their 40% off coupon and other times they don’t (This is according to verbal reports given to me by more than 3 different individuals) so good luck with that!

If you want to check out what a Cuttlebug does and how frikkin easy it is to use, come down to The Scrapbox for a free demo!

After LONG last - Core'dinations Cardstock has finally sipped out a partial order of their "Black Magic" paper packs AND I GOT MINE!

All of those smart ladies who had asked to have a pack or two set aside for them - it has been done and they are just awaiting your pleasure. I will be making calls over Saturday to personally inform those that special ordered them. I do have some left of each of the four Black Magic Paper Packs - "Hocus Pocus" "Cauldron" "Potion #9" and "Spell Caster"!

These *will not last* ladies. Already I've been told by my distributers that they got a partial order and that means another wait to get more in. If you are at all intersted in getting some, or finding out what this latest 'hot' items is - come down to The Scrapbox tomorrow (Sat July 5) as I am going to be open from 9am to 9pm because I am having my Ultra Pamper Crop also!

Premier Post!

Welcome to the first post! Since I haven't told anyone I'm doing this, you are totally coming across this at random but hey! Glad you are here!

The Scrapbox Studio is my dream taken form - a retreat of scrapbooking utopia, both in product and services. The Studio, where the crops and classes take place is actually bigger than the store (though not by much) for I believe in crafting in comfort. We have facilities to accomodate up to 13 individuals with a kitchenette, microwave, bar fridge coffee maker and water cooler (with hot and cold taps!) so that you can feel right at home away from home. Oh and a powder room of course!

I have shelves full of tools and toys to use including a Cricut Expressions, Original Cricut, Cuttlebug, a light table, stamps and punches and more! The Store front is fully stocked with the latest and prettiest in the realm of scrapbooking - Basic Grey, Little Yellow Bicycle, Imaginisce, Making Memories, Heidi Grace, KI Memories, SEI, Scenic Route are all features up front as well as tools and toys from Ranger, EK Success, Sakura, Tombow. There are so many different venders to represent that I could go on and on! Best just to come on down and visit.
